Hey Hey Races in 2013, house remodel, life and more

Hey all! I know it has been a while. Let me give my update on my kitchen remodel. I am all but DONE!! YAY! I still have to finish putting handles on these last 9 doors but they are hung and all. Below are a couple of progress pics. It was def worth all the labor. I am the type of lady who has no issue learning how to do things with my hands when I want to SAVE money….lol! I also got new chandelier put up. I had the old gold cheap looking one from when I moved in 4 years ago. Yuck!

I work from home on Wednesday(well that is put on hold the next couple of weeks due to work) but I needed a new heat pump so I got that installed this past week while it was still in cool weather cause I know if I would have waited a few more weeks it would have been about $1,000 – $1,500 more! My family is coming to visit next week so I want to be sure I have air because my house is in direct sunlight meaning it gets HOT!!! I have about 6-7 more things to upgrade in my house as far as fixtures and other items. I will get new fridge by end of May hopefully and new Dishwasher right after that. Just doing some upgrades cause I give it 5 more years and I will sell probably.

I have races for the rest of the year lined up. The MCM sold out super quick but luckily I can join a team and raise money to do race so be on the lookout all I will be sending emails…LOL! If you are in the ATL area and want to workout or go for a run HIT ME UP! I love doing physical activities and about to get into crossfit!! #TeamFineBody

At church I joined the Young Adult Ushers Ministry. I said in 2013 I would be much more involved in church and work would have to wait and I am making good on that promise. God has been so good to me and my family that I have to make sure I give me him time and worship! #GraceAndMercy! I just started reading Joyce Myers new book about breaking bad habits. I have some I want to break so time to start.

I am looking as doing a Greek Fitness App so I will keep you updated!!
Well that is all for now! Have a great night everyone and keep striving for your goals!

Weightloss and Enjoying life

Well I did the Peachtree Road Race and it was soooo much fun. Even though it was my slowest 10k so far I had a blast. My IPOD didn’t work and I got water thrown on me by some folks and it was all good. This is a great race to be apart of if you get the chance. I will do again next year.

I did my kitchen counter tops this weekend with the help of a friend and helpful tips from another friend. What do you think? We went for the Absolute Black look of granite and it turned out FAB!! The hardware is new and I painted the trim white and ordered new door fronts. Love my DIY projects!

Well I am about 10lbs from where I need to be. After going to doc I had a good feedback and a few new goals. She gave the tools I needed to succeed. I went to H&M yesterday and bought a size 6 blazer!! Anybody who knows me know what that this is huge!! I am so proud of myself I did eat way to much this weekend and not stick to my regular food since I had company. I do NOT do this often and know that my body if very food sensitive. The scale told me so this morning….soooo maybe I have a lil more than 10lbs to go…LMBO! Its all good!

Did I mention I planted watermelon in the back of my house…OH YEAH!!!

Running and living

Well I ran my second half mary a couple weekends ago. I shaved 33 mins off my first time but not where I wanted to be. The last mile we slowed up to long and then the legs started feeling the tiredness. I have another one in August. I plan on shaving atleast 50mins off my first half mary. PR on DECK!! I am in process of training for marathon!

Me and my partner are now working building apps for android. It has been a nice journey.

Update……..

Well I have been going back and forth between ANDROID and APPLE. I know this has been talked about a million times. Well after looking at what other things I have going on I have decided to stick with Android. So the next thing I will get is Google TV.

Racing………….So I have another race next weekend and excited about it. I am running once race a month for a year. These last 8 lbs are so stubborn. But I am determined to get rid of them. Last weekend my trainer gave me a weightloss makeover and a photoshot.

Well until next time………….

Half Marathons/Races

Well it is race season for me again. Tomorrow I will be in BHAM for Mercedes Half Marathon. I am running with relay team. I think I will be ok. We are all nervous about it though. Seeing I have never run on a team before this is all new to me but the Team Smooth as SiLLK is AWESOME! The publix one is next and my trainer keeps asking me to do the full. I will do the half not the full…lol! In May I am doing one with my aunt and college friend. It will be awesome. I will update yall on how the race goes tomorrow. Remember to Keep It Moving! NWLB!!

Holiday Season!

Well the holidays are here and I couldn’t be happier. I look at where I came from and where I am and I thank GOD! I am very thankful I do not look like what I have been through. This year has been a series of ups and downs. The first half of year was very hard but with GOD friends and family it got better second half.

When I come home I see family and a few old friends and I usually only come home 1 time a year due to work and other activities. I am truly blssed :) . I enjoy spending time with family and making new memories. I brought my cat home with me this year ad she seems pretty cozy here at moms…lol! She is not fond of the car ride though.

Shout out to Kenya Crooks and my workout group. I come home and have folks in shock on how I look now. His site!

I have been working on my 2012 plans and trying to get to the place God has put in my heart. I have a lot of things to do and I have the energy to match. Here is a checklist to ensure you ACTUALLY COMPLETE your 2012 New Years Resolutions.

1) Ensure you pray about it and it is what GOD wants for you and not what you want for you. I can say from experience you will FAIL if he is not in control.
2) Know what it is you want to achieve and NARROW it down. Do not be so generic like….”I want to lose weight”. Ok how much? What is my desired size? How will I change my eating habits? How often will I work out? How will this effect my budget? These are the types of questions that will help you know EXACTLY what you are shooting for.
3) Plan out how you want to achieve these goals. If you have not planned for it then you WILL FAIL!! I started before 2012 so when the new year hit I could ensure I had all my ducks in a row.
4) Surround yourself with people who will help you achieve and succeed. You can set yourself for failure from beginning if you are around negative people who tell you “I think you need to be realistic”. I am a believer if GOD puts it in your heart then you can achieve it. Surround yourself with positive people who want to see you succeed. Around me “Negativity will get you the boot”! That is my 2012 slogan…lol!
5) Reasearch…..This is important because you may have your plan but there can be different routes to a successful ending. Sometimes things happen that cause us to go a different route to achieve the same goal. So researching the different ways/ideas of achieving what you want is VERY important so you won’t get deterred for what GOD has for you.
6) FOCUS! If you get side tracked admit it and get back on track period!

Ok those are my tips! Have a great Holiday Season everyone!

Ideas and putting them in PLAY for 2012!

As I talked to my business partner while driving in rain the Lord began to show me things. The more we talked the more ideas the Lord began to put in my head. I am in awe at the way I feel. We are also publishing a app for Kenya Crooks “World Greatest Weightloss Expert”!! Check Him Out.
This will be the first of many apps. He is my trainer also who I lost over 30lbs with. I will be posting before and after pics….Tell me what you think.
Weightloss

Remember that when you have the opportunity to do what you love then DO IT! We started before 2012 to restart our BUSINESS! Co-Owning your own business is hard work but I know in the end it will PAY off.

The job is going well. Been there for about 6 months now and have NO plans on going elsewhere. I am truly blessed to be a Child of GOD. All these things are happening and it feels so good.

No More Flash?!?!?

Well as we all know it was announced Adobe was KILLING flash. It was only a matter of time I figured like this would happen. Since Apple does not support Flash on ANY of its products it was only a matter of time with Apple product popularity. So there will be no more mobile updates for flash sooooo we will see how this all turns out because a lot of use use go to flash sites on our phones and such.

I am learning Flex and not sure if I should continue this endeavor. I am going to start working with HTML5 so that I can make sure to keep up with the latest for work and personal. Oh the twist and turns of technology.

Zeta Site!

So I know I am late but I should have done this site a few months ago and the ladies of the Phi Chi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc have been patient. I have been so busy with work and things I haven’t had time. Sooo no more excuses! I plan on finishing it up by COB Friday June 3rd…lol! I’m working on the chapter login in PHP. Everything else is done mostly. I even created a template for a newsletter. Right now I have it on my hosting. WWW.latoshaclark.com/ZETA I will move to there domain once complete.

Doing this project helps me keep the php skills in tack! I don’t get to do it at work so doing extra things like this helps me. I also am working with a old co-worker to get some coding done for a new site that will be similar to Georgiaweather.net but on a much smaller scale. Hoping we can figure out how to do it since we don’t have access to install certain things on their server.

Decisions

The decisions I make now can affect my future now and 2 years from now.  Umm that’s kinda scary to think about.  Well what brought me to this topic was my old job at UGA.  First my previous boss took a job at another university.  Once that happened I knew I should start looking because my position was grant funded and he was taking some with him because they were associated with his research.  I was scared but at the same time calm.  I know I know that doesn’t sound correct.  See I had been looking for another job for a while because of the stress I was feeling.  Nothing was coming up then after my old boss left I started looking and praying harder because I knew it was my time to go after we were told we had funding for about a year.  I found a job I felt like I could do successfully and applied.  Got the job and am still doing side work for university because they have not hired for my position yet.  Then I found out about two months ago that they were shutting down aemn if no funding came available.  Not to mention that I use to do the poster with all the faculty and staff from dept. and that number went from 25+ to 3!!!!  Three people left!  I felt a blessed and amazed at how GOD works.  So come in like two days they will start shutting down weather stations and in June all stations will be shutdown!

Wrapping things up I have to say THANK YOU JESUS!!  He didn’t bless when you I asked for blessing for 3 years straight because I wasn’t ready.  I had to get prepared for the next journey in my life and I am on that journey.
